Prospective first-year students must:
• Have a 3.00 recalculated grade point average (GPA) (a B or better where A=4.00) from a secondary school. Please note: GPA recalculation occurs during the admissions evaluation process and is based on grades from courses outlined in our competency requirements below.
• Have three years of high school work. Please note: If you are currently in high school, UA needs to see 9–11 grade work. If you have completed high school then UA needs to see 10–12 grade work.
• Have and present a completed high school diploma or certificate.
• Official high school transcript(s)

Explore and protect animal and human health through the study of veterinary science. You can choose to focus your studies on applied animal behavior or general veterinary science. A Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree in veterinary science from the University of Arizona prepares you to pursue an advanced degree in veterinary medicine or to start work in the field of veterinary and comparative biomedical sciences upon graduation. As a veterinary science student at the University of Arizona, faculty mentors will challenge you to apply what you learn to real-world experiences based on your interests. You'll explore human-animal relationships, animal reproduction, anatomy and physiology, the care of animal populations, microbiology, disease ecology and pathology.
