Launch your future in the livestock industry with Lakeland's animal science livestock science major.<br><br>Youll start on the Student-Managed Farm Powered by New Holland on day one.<br><br>Youll gain a broad view of different sectors from both the production and business side.<br><br>Our courses are species specific. Youll choose between beef and dairy production for your in-depth study, but youll also learn about bison, horses and sheep.<br><br>While youll have time in the classroom, youll have ample time with hands-on learning on the college farm. This starts with livestock handling and goes to making decisions and solving problems as part of a SMF team. Youll follow the production cycle breeding, feeding and selling.<br><br>If you chose the practicum route, youll also put your learning into action with a project and capstone presentation.<br><br>Whatever your choice, youll connect with award-winning faculty and fellow students. Youll learn from each other through case studies, mentorship and teamwork.
