If you have relevant prior learning or experience, you can reduce the number of courses you need to complete and graduate in less time.
To be eligible to complete the degree in 1.5 years full-time (only available as full-time study), you'll need:
a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in agricultural science, animal science, biological science, plant science, botany, horticulture or agronomy veterinary science, wildlife biology or zoology.
You must have a grade point average (GPA) of 4.5 on a 7-point scale in your previous qualification.
IELTS overall 6.5, reading 6, writing 6, speaking 6, listening 6. For other English Language Proficiency Tests and Scores approved for UQ
TOEFL IBT - Overall 87, listening 19, reading 19, writing 21 and speaking 19.
TOEFL PBT - Overall 570, listening 54, reading 54, writing 59/5.

The Master of Agricultural Science is designed for recent agricultural, animal, biological, plant, or veterinary science graduates, and for established professionals wanting to upgrade their skills. For your 1.5 years of full-time studies, you'll select from nearly 40 courses, including those within one of three specialised fields – Agronomy, Horticulture or Plant Protection – allowing you to tailor your studies to suit your interests and career goals. Graduates demonstrate the ability to apply leadership, research and problem-solving skills to meet the global challenges associated with feeding the world, and maintaining our environment in situations of increasing community expectations of animal welfare, biosecurity concerns, and competition for limited resources. This greatly expands your career prospects into a wide range of government, commercial, community or research-based roles. The Master of Agricultural Science can provide a pathway into an MPhil or PhD<br><br>As an Agronomy graduate you will play an essential role in the global challenges of producing sustainable, extensive field and fibre crops such as, wheat, barley, rice, sugar cane and cotton under irrigated or non-irrigated environments. Soil fertility and crop nutrition is essential for food production for an increasing world population, while maintaining our environment. You will develop research, multi-disciplinary and leadership skills to enable you to integrate and apply knowledge across the production to consumption chain.
