The Agricultural and Food Systems (A and FS) major will allow you to seek a career in agribusiness, government service, and agricultural education and extension, as well as prepare you to be an owner/operator of a farming enterprise. Rather than providing specific options within the major, a unique aspect of the A and FS major is the ability for you to tailor your course work to your specific interests. You will have the ability to choose classes of interest from several clusters of specific courses. Depending upon the courses chosen, areas in which you could focus include controlled-environment and precision agriculture, agricultural policy and entrepreneurship, energy efficiency, and niche agriculture, including agro-tourism, community-supported agriculture, and sustainable agriculture.
