Successful completion of Horticulture and Landscape Technology Year 1 or advanced standing.
Advanced standing To be considered, you must apply to and meet the admission requirements for the Horticulture and Landscape Technology program. Advanced standing is based on academic credits (certificate/diploma/degree) completed from a recognized public institution within the past ten years that meet the academic requirements of the full first year of the program. Advanced standing is subject to seat availability.
Copy of board-attested or direct-issued Certificate issued by All India Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), All India Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), or State Boards of Higher Secondary Education.
Copy of Statement of Marks/Mark Sheet for Grade 12. School-issued transcripts/records with marks are not acceptable.
Official transcripts You must submit your official transcript(s) for courses required for admission.
International English Language Testing Systems (IELTS Academic Test) minimum score of 6.0 on each test (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking).
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) minimum test scores of 80 on the Internet-Based Test (TOEFL iBT), 60 on the Paper-Delivered Test, or 550 on the Paper-Based Test.
Canadian Test of English for Scholars and Trainees (CanTest) average score of 4.5.
Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) minimum Level 8 on each test. Canadian Language Benchmarks Placement Test (CLBPT) is not accepted.
Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL) minimum Band 60.
Michigan English Test (MET) minimum score 59.

The Landscape concentration is an option of the Horticulture and Landscape Technology diploma program. You start this concentration at the beginning of your second year. You build skills and knowledge in landscape design, construction, maintenance and operations. Through practice and study, you also develop a strong understanding of how plants and landscaping benefit the economy, environmental sustainability and lifestyles.<br>Career options<br>Graduates may find employment in various sectors of the horticulture industry, including work in landscape operations at golf courses, lawn care companies, town parks and green spaces, botanical gardens and retail operations.<br>Future study options<br>Certified Horticulture Technician Graduates who wish to obtain a national professional designation must meet stated eligibility criteria from recognized governing institutions such as Landscape Nova Scotia. In addition to course work, you also need to meet required industry experience to complete your certification.<br>Graduates who complete an apprenticeship program in this trade are eligible to write the provincial certification exam to receive their certification with a Red Seal.<br>Red Seal Landscape Horticulturist is a designated trade that qualifies for the Interprovincial Standards Red Seal Program. The Red Seal allows qualified tradespersons to practise the trade in any province or territory in Canada where the trade is designated without having to write further examinations.
