Successful completion of Horticulture and Landscape Technology Year 1 or advanced standing.
Advanced standing To be considered, you must apply to and meet the admission requirements for the Horticulture and Landscape Technology program. Advanced standing is based on academic credits (certificate/diploma/degree) completed from a recognized public institution within the past ten years that meet the academic requirements of the full first year of the program. Advanced standing is subject to seat availability.
Copy of board-attested or direct-issued Certificate issued by All India Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), All India Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), or State Boards of Higher Secondary Education.
Copy of Statement of Marks/Mark Sheet for Grade 12. School-issued transcripts/records with marks are not acceptable.
Official transcripts You must submit your official transcript(s) for courses required for admission.
International English Language Testing Systems (IELTS Academic Test) minimum score of 6.0 on each test (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking).
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) minimum test scores of 80 on the Internet-Based Test (TOEFL iBT), 60 on the Paper-Delivered Test, or 550 on the Paper-Based Test.
Canadian Test of English for Scholars and Trainees (CanTest) average score of 4.5.
Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) minimum Level 8 on each test. Canadian Language Benchmarks Placement Test (CLBPT) is not accepted.
Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL) minimum Band 60.
Michigan English Test (MET) minimum score 59.

The Operations concentration is an option of the Horticulture and Landscape Technology diploma program. You start this concentration at the beginning of your second year. You learn all aspects of greenhouse, nursery and garden centre practices. Your courses and study are focused on plant propagation, production, care, and maintenance in greenhouse, nursery and garden centre environments all while utilizing safe and sustainable practices.<br>Career options<br>Graduates find employment as horticulturalists, plant technicians, and retail assistants at garden centres, nurseries and greenhouses.<br>The sector also has jobs in wholesale and retail garden centre operations and management.<br>Future study options<br>Certified Horticulture Technician Individuals who wish to obtain a national professional designation must meet stated eligibility criteria from recognized governing institutions such as Landscape Nova Scotia. This program provides 1,000 hours of the 2,000 hours that are required for the Certified Horticulture Technician (CHT) certification. In addition to course work, you also need to meet required industry experience to complete your certification.
