课程简介
Conflict resolution skills are essential for forging and stewarding successful relationships between people, communities, and organizations. Columbia University's Master of Science in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution prepares students to analyze the root causes and dynamics of conflict and to transform disputes through reasoned and resourceful interventions. This requires creative use of theoretical understanding, communication, and problem-solving skills, and the sheer tenacity to work through the many issues that can complicate negotiations. With courses led by some of the world's premier scholar-practitioners in negotiation and conflict resolution, the program focuses on developing self-awareness and interpersonal competency, building common ground, opening lines of communication, ensuring representation and recognition, building lasting relationships, and the ability to build sustainable possibilities for resolution . <br>Columbia University's Master of Science in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution prepares students to analyze the root causes and dynamics of conflict and to transform disputes through reasoned and resourceful interventions. For the full-time option, students can take courses on Columbia's New York City campus. Some classes have both an online and on-campus component, and some electives are fully online. Classes are offered in the evenings or on weekends. Fall or spring entry is possible. The hybrid option combines online courses with a three-week on-campus Intensive Study during the summer. (Courses included in the intensive study run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. four days a week.) The hybrid option takes three terms to complete, and only spring entry is available.
