课程简介
The Marine Biology graduate program focuses on the ecology, physiology and biochemistry/molecular biology of marine organisms. Students may pursue either a M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Marine Biology. Graduate students are afforded excellent opportunities for laboratory and field research through facilities available in Fairbanks, the Kasitsna Bay Laboratory, the Seward Marine Center, the Juneau Center, the Kodiak Seafood and Marine Science Center, or through ship-based research through their advisor's research program or other field opportunities. Students considering graduate study in Marine Biology are strongly encouraged to contact potential faculty advisors prior to applying. This will assist in a more efficient review of their application. Students in Marine Biology who have a strong background in biology, ecology, physiology, molecular biology or biochemistry are encouraged to apply. Students are admitted on the basis of their ability and academic preparation, availability of financial support, and the capability of the program to meet their particular interests and needs. Faculty review requests for admission throughout the year. Most students are supported by their advisors on research projects that relate directly to their degree research. These stipends for financial support are awarded competitively.
