Applicants must submit an official secondary/high school transcript indicating courses completed and grades.
Transfer students must submit official college transcript(s) from all previously attended colleges/universities.
International students whose language of instruction is not English, must provide proof of English proficiency.
Manhattan College accepts the following exams:
TOEFL IBT - 80
IELTS - 6.5
Duolingo - 100
One letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor is required. You may submit up to three academic letters. You are also permitted to submit an additional character reference.
Course selection and performance will be considered when evaluating your academic record. For the most recent incoming class, the average GPA was 89 (3.4), however, the admissions committee considers more than GPA when evaluating an application.
International applicants are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Applicants must complete a full sequence of university-preparatory studies that would qualify for admission to post-secondary studies in their home country. In general, students who present a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average from university preparatory studies are considered for admission. This requirement is equivalent to the twelve-year program of elementary, middle, and high school in the United States.

International studies focuses on international relations and culture and the transnational forces that have shaped them. Social, political, economic, environmental and other complex issues extend beyond language and borders in our globalized society. Understanding requires an interdisciplinary approach. We live in an era of global change, where international economic and power structures are always shifting. Prepare to meet the challenges of the 21st century in one of the most globally diverse cities in the world: New York. The international studies major is interdisciplinary, and course topics include: International economics, Culture though film, Relations & organizations, Literature and war, U.S foreign policy, Diplomatic history, World art. Manhattan College participates in two Model UN conferences each year: a fall conference in Washington, D.C., and the spring National Model United Nations Conference in New York City. This hands-on experience lets participants acquire expertise on a particular country, which they represent at the conference.
