All international applicants whose first language is not English must provide proof of English language proficiency English language proficiency may be demonstrated by one of the following -
TOEFL iBT - minimum score of 79.
IELTS - minimum score of 6.5.
Cambridge English Advanced - 176-184.
Pearson Test of English minimum score of 53.
Eiken Test of English completion of level Pre1.
Applicants who have attended a secondary school or post-secondary school where the language of instruction is English may be exempt from submitting an English proficiency examination depending upon their English grades AP IB O level A-level GCSE American Curriculum and their SAT and or ACT scores if submitted Such exemptions are determined on a case-by-case basis.

The Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures offers a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Global Language and Area Studies (GLAS), with three track options: Arabic Studies, Classical Studies, or Japanese Studies. This 33-credit major is designed so that it can be completed in as little as two years for students who begin in their junior year at minimum, it is typically only 9 total courses.<br><br>The Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures offers a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Global Language and Area Studies (GLAS). Students studying in the GLAS major choose one of two tracks: Classical Studies or Japanese Studies.<br><br>The Global Language and Area Studies B.A. is designed to allow you to emphasize either language learning or area studies knowledge. The major begins with an introductory course, requires a minimum of four semesters of language, at least one area studies course, and concludes with a project-based capstone that gives you a chance to show off what you have learned about the language and the region. All majors are expected to reach Novice High in their focus language on the ACTFL scalethough most will reach much higher than thisand all will gain a working knowledge of the culture, history, or religion.
