国际学生入学条件
High School Transcripts.
Typically, the most important factor in the admission evaluation process is demonstrated academic achievement in a challenging secondary school program.
The admission committee looks for applicants who have completed the most rigorous academic courses available in their secondary schools and recommends that prospective students should exceed minimum high school graduation requirements. We require an official transcript. The secondary program should include no fewer than 16 academic courses and must include the following courses:
English 4 units
Mathematics 4 units
Foreign Language 2 units
Science (from among biology, chemistry, and physics) 2 units (*)
Social Studies 1 unit
A TOEFL or IELTS score should not be more than two years old. Depending on the school, most admitted graduate students attain a minimum total score of 90 on the internet-based (iBT) TOEFL (including sectional minimums of 22 in speaking, 22 in writing, 23 in reading and 23 in listening). The minimum paper-based TOEFL score requirement is usually 600, and the minimum IELTS score requirement is 7.0.

课程简介
Global Commerce in Culture & Society (GCCS) does not offer a business training curriculum like the McIntire School of Commerce or the Entrepreneurship and Business program in the School of Engineering and Applied Science. Instead, GCCS students explore the history and diversity of economic institutions. How are economic institutions and systems of exchange shaped by, and embedded in, social and cultural contexts that they affect in turn What alternative ways of organizing commerce are suggested by world comparative and historical study How does the organization of work affect workers and society How have commercial forms such as companies, markets, trade networks, money and credit, legal systems, supply chains, and labor regimes contributed to forming modernity and shaping the environment and the contemporary world.<br>The GCCS curriculum is designed to encourage students to develop their own thematic and areal interests. It gives them flexibility to explore these through coursework in different departments, programs and schools, chosen with the guidance of their Faculty Advisor. GCCS is a Global Studies major stewarded jointly by faculty in the departments of anthropology and sociology. There are many faculty in those departments and elsewhere in the University who teach courses that will be of interest to GCCS students.
