Students who complete a Social Science profile in Global Studies will learn about relationships between human societies, communities, and political systems at the Canadian and global levels, with a particular emphasis on issues such as international relations, global conflict and security, and Indigenous peoples displacement and resistance. Students will develop their social, cultural, and environmental consciousness, and will explore pathways towards global social engagement and civic responsibility.<br><br>The Social Science profile in Global Studies prepares students to pursue university studies in any Social Science discipline such as anthropology, economics, sociology, geography, history, political science, psychology, as well, law, journalism, education, and social work. As well, students become well-equipped to work in solidarity with First Peoples. This profile is not a prerequisite for a specific university program.
