High school graduate: If you are currently in high school, we just need to see your 9-11 (or equivalent) grade transcripts for an admission decision. However, you must graduate from an approved high school (or equivalent) prior to starting classes at CMU.
To ensure your success at CMU, you must provide proof of proficiency in English
Submit official transcripts from your high school. If you have college credits, also submit transcripts from all colleges or universities you have attended.
TOEFL: 550 PBT/79 IBT for regular admission.
IELTS: 6.5 for regular admission.
General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) or General Certificate of Education (GSE): A score of A or B on the English Language Exam.
SAT: Evidence-based Reading and Writing (EBRW) score of 520.
ACT: English score of 21.
ELS Language Center Program: Completion of Level 112 for regular admission.
International Baccalaureate (IB): A grade of 5 in English at the Higher Level is required for regular admission.

Neuroscience is an interdisciplinary program and combines scientific knowledge in disciplines like chemistry, biology and psychology to study how the brain and the nervous system work to guide thoughts, dreams and behavior.Neuroscience majors become medical professionals (MD, DO, PA, PT, etc.), researchers (in biotech, pharmaceutical, hospitals, etc.), educators (teachers, professors, etc.), and can be found in many other professions (such as law, business, etc.) that value the critical thinking skills and ability to synthesize diverse information that is gained by studying neuroscience. Most of our majors have attained careers in biomedical research or in the medical/allied health professions. Others have pursued careers in industry (biotech firms and pharmaceutical companies), government (NIH), law, insurance industry, and education (professors, career counselors). You are your brain. Neuroscience combines scientific knowledge in disciplines such as chemistry, biology and psychology to study how the brain and nervous system guide thoughts, dreams and behavior.
