The Department of Psychology has approximately 30 faculty members and 60 graduate students. Faculty have active research programs in many areas of psychology, many of which rely on volunteers from the community. Psychology is also part of the interdisciplinary Cognitive and Behavioural Ecology (CABE) program, which offers both the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees. Interested students should apply directly to the CABE program.<br><br>The Behavioural Neuroscience group examines how neural activity and organization give rise to behavior, especially focusing on understanding the relation between changes in behavior and changes in limbic system anatomy and physiology (limbic plasticity).<br><br>Current faculty interests include investigation of: the neural basis of post-traumatic stress disorder using predator stress as an animal model, modulation of brain stem startle circuitry, activity anorexia in rats, changes in hippocampal physiology that underlie learning, how sex hormones influence brain development and behavior, and the neural basis of spatial learning and memory.<br><br>Duration (Full-time students):<br>PsyD, PhD: 4 years<br><br>Campus: St. John's<br><br>Application Deadline:<br>February 1 (MSc, MAPS, PhD) for Fall admission
