Have a four-year baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution
Be in good academic standing at the last college or university attended
Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 in all undergraduate units
A well-written statement of purpose (approximately 1,000 words, double-spaced, 12-point font)
Original or certified copies of all academic transcripts
Students graduating with a bachelor's degree in the spring term (before June) are encouraged to apply
Three strong letters of recommendation
No GRE required
Applicants should have all of the following:
A well-written statement of purpose, for example
Expressed conceptual understanding of the field of behavior analysis, the program at CSUN, and future goals as board certified behavior analysts
Clear commitment to becoming scientist-practitioners in the field of behavior analysis
Solid academic backgrounds (e.g., high academic grades, particularly in research methods, and behavior analysis coursework, or high GREs to supplement lower GPAs)
Strong Recommendation Letters from credible recommenders who observed the candidate in various relevant settings (e.g., as a student, as a behavior interventionist, and supervisee).
Valuable clinical experience through faculty research, employment, internships, volunteerships, etc.
Admission to the program generally requires an undergraduate degree (or its equivalent for international students), from a regionally accredited institution, in Psychology. Applicants who do not have a degree in Psychology should consult with the program director.
A GPA of 3.0 is required except on approval by the Graduate Admission Committee.

Based on a curriculum that addresses the behavioral theory and its real-world application, this two-year program prepares you to step into top positions in the field. Students will receive on-the-ground training in clinical settings arranged by CSUN, with faculty guidance each step of the way. You will learn how to conduct thorough behavioral assessments, implement and monitor evidence-based interventions, and consult with parents, caregivers, and school personnel while adhering to the profession's ethical guidelines. This cost-competitive degree also lays the groundwork for admission into the nation's most prestigious ABA doctoral programs.<br><br>All courses are taught by doctoral-level faculty and feature ABAI approved content, including curriculum in human development, psychopathology, developmental disabilities (e.g. Autism Spectrum Disorder), and behaviorism. The program's course work is designed to promote the progressive development of behavior analytic skills. Upon graduating and successful completion of supervised fieldwork hours, you will be eligible to sit for the BCBA examination.
