Decisions on admissions are based on previous academic records, Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores, statement of professional goals and experiences and letters of reference. Personal interviews are encouraged and are required by some faculty but are not a formal requirement for admission to the GPN.
BS or BA degree in human or animal nutrition/dietetics, or a related biological or social science.
Overall grade-point average of 3.00 (A=4.00) and a B average in nutrition and related sciences.

Optional: The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is optional for the graduate program in nutritional sciences. Applicants to the Ph.D. program are strongly encouraged to submit GRE scores if they can be helpful in the Admissions Committee's assessment of readiness for doctoral study.
International applicants must take and submit scores for the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or the IELTS (International English Language Testing System), with the exceptions noted below. The minimum acceptable score for the TOEFL is 550 for the paper-based test, 213 for the computer-based test, or a total score of 80 with a 19 on the speaking section for the Internet-based test (iBT). Applicants with iBT speaking scores between 15 and 18 may be considered for provisaaional admission, enrollment, and, if necessary, remedial course work.
