To be considered for admission to Washington State University as a freshman, a student needs to complete at least 12 years of school, culminating in an appropriate secondary certificate or external examination. (We may consider the first year or two of university in some countries to be secondary level.) Schooling should include preparation in humanities, mathematics, basic sciences, and social sciences. WSU requires a minimum grade point average of 2.70 (on a 4.00 scale) for admission as an international freshman. TOEFL: 213 computer-based (CBT), 79 internet-based (iBT), 550 paper-based (PBT). IELTS: 6.5. SAT: 500 Critical Reading Sub Score

The basic medical sciences major offers you all the science you need to enter medical school or other health science schools, while giving you the flexibility to pursue your own particular interests and even study abroad. This major is a good choice for pre-health students who have diverse interests. Students in the program work closely with their academic advisor to develop a coherent course of study that includes preparation for professional school.<br>Our health professions specialists will help you navigate the application process for medical or another professional school, including building your portfolio, securing internships, and preparing for interviews. Study at a national research university with research and teaching facilities that are equipped with the latest analytical instrumentation. You can join a math, science, and engineering community residence hall at WSU Pullman-share classes with your neighbors, study together, get free tutoring, and use the hall's computer lab. Collaborate with internationally respected faculty members on their research projects or pursue a project of your own.
