Literature faculty offer a variety of seminars in English, American, and World literature each semester during convenient evening hours. Readings will enrich your understanding of major authors and influential movements, introduce you to emerging and current authors, or explore such topics as literary theory, creative writing, women's literature, and poetics. A Literature faculty advisor helps each student to select a plan of study and to maintain progress toward completion of the Master of Arts in Literature from University of Houston-Clear Lake. UHCL's Master of Arts in Literature offers two optional concentrations: American Studies and Composition and Rhetoric. A focus on American Studies equips you for government service and other fields in which knowledge of American culture is rewarded, or for doctoral studies in related fields.
