第一年的外语课程是为从未学习过该语言或长期未学习的学生而设计的。除非获得教师许可，否则所有学生都将开始第一季度课程（例如SPAN＆121，ARAB 101，JAPN＆121）。请注意，所有四分之三的时间都视为一整年的外国语言（例如SPAN＆121、122、123）。外语不是南西雅图学院学生的毕业要求。但是，许多四年制大学确实要求在高中或社区大学接受外语学习。随着每个学院和每个专业要求的变化，请咨询顾问。
The first year of foreign language is designed for students who have never studied the language before or who haven't studied in a long time. All students will start in the first quarter course (e.g. SPAN& 121, ARAB 101, JAPN& 121) unless they have instructor permission. Please note that a full year of a foreign language is considered all three quarters (e.g. SPAN& 121, 122, 123). Foreign Language is not a graduation requirement for South Seattle College students. However, many four-year universities do require foreign language to be taken in either high school or at the community college. Please check with an advisor as the requirements change with each college and with each major.
