Students taking the TOEFL must take the international version of the exam (iBT or PBT). IELTS scores may be accepted in lieu of the TOEFL, minimum score of 6.5 is required.

We offer both an M.A. and Ph.D. in Hispanic Literatures and Cultural Studies, combining rigorous training in scholarship and critical methodologies, and delivering a broad and solid preparation for a vibrant future in academia, research, or any number of other specialized careers. Our program involves thirteen faculty members whose expertise covers various fields of study and theoretical approaches. Our faculty-to-student ratio is approximately one to three, enabling students to develop close working relations with experts in their area of research interest. The program sustains an invigorating intellectual life with invited lectures, scholars in residence, and conferences. Graduate students and faculty participate in a variety of research groups. Advanced graduate students also present their current research in an informal lecture series.
