葡萄牙语的未成年人和西班牙语的未成年人都适合希望将语言能力的获得与对葡语系或讲西班牙语的世界的文学和文化研究相结合的学生。每个未成年人需要30个单元的字母成绩课程。经本科学习主席批准，这些未成年人最多可在系外进行5个单元的课程学习，并且不超过15个第二年及以上的西班牙语或葡萄牙语课程（不包括会话课程）。
This program is designed for students who want to move towards fluency in reading, listening, speaking, and writing Spanish while developing a contextualized understanding of the language through linguistic and cultural study. This degree emphasizes critical use of the language in a global perspective. Spanish appears on the official transcript and diploma. Both the minor in Portuguese and the minor in Spanish are for students who want to combine acquisition of linguistic competence with the study of the literatures and cultures of the Lusophone or Spanish-speaking worlds. Each minor requires 30 units of course work taken for a letter grade. Up to 5 units of course work outside the department, and up to 15 units of second-year and above Spanish or Portuguese language courses (not including conversational courses) may count toward these minors with the approval of the Chair of Undergraduate Studies.
