课程简介
Combine challenging courses, accomplished accessible faculty, opportunities to get involved in creating significant events and individually designed internships and research projects. Explore how institutions and social practices construct gender inequalities in the world. Examine how people respond to promote greater justice and human rights. Investigate systems of power using intersectional analysis - identify how race, class, sexuality and other dimensions of difference shape gender dynamics and gender violence. Apply critical thinking, including media analysis, to examine your own identity, relationships and experiences. Gender and women's studies is a different kind of major, one that asks you to imagine your future and respond to the question, ?What do you want your future to be? Our students credit their interdisciplinary knowledge, analytical skills and global awareness for the fulfilling career and life choices they are able to make. In a student's own words, ?GWS courses have given me a vocabulary for feelings I?ve always had. They have broadened my knowledge as to why our society works the way it does and who benefits. They?ve helped me to think for myself and develop a sense of who I am.
