Gender and sexualities are increasingly a focus of political protest and cultural change. This stream provides students with the opportunity to examine the construction of ‘normal' and ‘deviant' sexualities through a lens of feminist and queer theories. Our curriculum provides a critical introduction to the theoretical approaches, research methods and substantive areas developed by sociologists to explain the social processes that structure our everyday worlds. Gain firsthand research experience working with experts in the fields of aging, law, medicine, popular culture and sexuality, examining and exploring these topics in a supportive environment.
