国际学生入学条件

Stony Brook University online application including statement of purpose.
Applicants must have an earned baccalaureate degree with a grade point average of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale) equivalent to a U.S. baccalaureate degree.
Three letters of recommendation. These letters should be academic, but consideration will also be given to non-academic letters. Letters must be uploaded online by the recommender.
Transcripts should be uploaded as part of your application. In addition to the upload, two official transcripts from each institution you've attended (even if a degree was not issued) should be submitted to the department. If you've previously attend Stony Brook University, you will not be required to send an official SBU transcript, but are required to upload an unofficial version of the SBU transcript for review purposes.
GRE and TOEFL scores reported directly to Stony Brook ( code 2548).
Note: Master's applicants who have earned a degree from an English language university or college, where all instruction is in English, may be admitted without taking the TOEFL or IELTS tests if they receive prior approval from the respective Program Director, but such students must still meet Stony Brook University's English language competency requirements in order to be a Teaching Assistant .
Proof of Permanent Residency is required for students who declare themselves as Permanent Residents
IELTS: Overall score of 6.5, with no subsection recommended to be below 6
TOEFL: 80 for Master's level, 90 for admission to a doctoral program and to be eligible for consideration for TA/GA support

The Master of Arts in Political Science degree at Stony Brook University is an innovative program that uses the lens of psychology to better understand politics. Small courses taught by our full-time faculty focus on the psychology of public opinion, attitude change, persuasion, and political behavior. The program builds on our successful, internationally renowned PhD program in political psychology. The program teaches advanced skills in political psychology, public opinion, political attitudes, and mobilization. The Political Science M.A. program will introduce students to theories that help to make sense of public attitudes and behavior, familiarize them with core research on the dynamics of attitudes and opinions, and provide them with first-hand experience on the major research methods used to study the dynamics of public opinion and behavior. Students in the M.A. program also have the option to get involved in a research study with one of the faculty in the department and through the department's two political psychology labs. The program may be completed in a calendar year by full-time students and within 2 years by students who select a part-time schedule.
