Political science deals with how we reach the collective decisions that shape our common fate. Political scientists study topics such as the exercise of power and influence, sources and resolution of conflicts, the relationship of politics to the economy, culture, and other aspects of society, the adoption and implementation of public policies, and the development of political systems. These topics are studied at all levels, from local communities to the global community. The undergraduate pre-law degree curriculum is made up of 4 sub-fields: US politics, comparative politics, international relations, and political theory. Roosevelt University is ideally located for studying political science, as it is in one of the USA's most dynamic metropolitan areas. Government is the area's largest employer and Chicago is home to a large number of political offices, social action groups, and political consultants.
