The Political Science curriculum is designed around traditional core courses focusing on four subfields that include American government, international relations, comparative politics, and political theory. Additional requirements emphasize research, internships, and a senior project or thesis to help build specific practical skills that can be highlighted and applied after graduation as you pursue employment opportunities in the public or private sector. Both the B.S. and B.A. in Political Science require completion of a total of 120 credit hours prior to graduation, with 24 credit hours in the core curriculum. Beyond the eight core courses, you may choose to complete a minor in a related field or deepen your focus in Political Science with six additional elective courses.
