Minimum of a Baccalaureate Degree
Verification of completion of the Didactic Program in Dietetics or an intent to complete form, from an ACEND-accredited undergraduate program
Overall GPA of 3.0 or above
Recent relevant work experience beyond that required for undergraduate course requirements (may be either paid or volunteer)
A Medical Nutrition Therapy course completed no more than four years prior to the application to the University of Delaware Dietetic Internship
GRE scores within the past 5 years
International student applicants must demonstrate a satisfactory level of proficiency in the English language if English is not their first language. The minimum TOEFL score varies by degree program with Master's degree programs typically requiring scores of at least 550 (paper based) or 79 (TOEFL IBT), and PhD programs requiring a score of at least 600 (paper based) or 100 (TOEFL IBT). TOEFL scores from the last two years are required. IELTS (International English Language Testing System) score of 6.5 overall with no individual Speaking sub-score below 6.0.

The combined Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics/Dietetic Internship (MS/DI) program at the University of Delaware provides graduates of a didactic program in dietetics (DPD) with advanced knowledge of nutrition and metabolism, research methods, critical thinking skills, as well as an opportunity to engage in methods, implementation and interpretation of nutrition research, and to acquire competencies needed to practice dietetics in a variety of settings, in one seamless program. In line with the missions of the University, the College of Health Sciences, and the Department of Behavioral Health and Nutrition, the MS/DI values high-quality education of students, service in the community, and participation in professional organizations.<br>Graduates of the Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics/Dietetic Internship (MS/DI) at the University of Delaware will be proficient entry-level practitioners across all areas of nutrition care including clinical, food service, and community dietetic roles. Students are expected to operate independently with high levels of professionalism and integrity both during the MS/DI and throughout their careers. The knowledge and skills gained through successful completion of the MS/DI will allow students to successfully pass the registration examination for dietitians.
