Grade Point Average At least 3.00 A equals to 4.00 for the final 60 semester hours 90 quarter hours of undergraduate study
Optional Test GRE general The Department of Art History no longer requires GRE scores for applicants to the MA program
Minimum English Competency Test Score TOEFL 650 paper based 280 computer based 95 with subscores of Reading 24 Listening 24 Speaking 24 and Writing 22 iBT Internet based OR IELTS 7.0 with sub scores of 6.5 for all four sub scores
Letters of Recommendation Three required from faculty members or others familiar with the applicants training ability and experience
Personal Statement Applicants must submit a short statement of purpose 2-3 pages that should address the reasons for pursuing the MA in Art History at UIC and the relationship of this work to their professional and career objectives
Writing Sample Applicants must submit a sample of their written work approximately 1-5 pages
