Official transcripts from all institutions (domestic or international) previously or presently attended, secondary schools, colleges and universities (Domestic and international applicants who have attended postsecondary institutions outside of North America must have their transcripts assessed.
International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma with at least six subjects, including three at a higher level, with a minimum final grade of 24, will be considered for admission. Students who successfully complete the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma with a score of 24 or higher are eligible to receive up to 30 transfer credits, equivalent to one year of full-time study.
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): Applicants to all programs except Nursing require a minimum score of 83 (iBT) with a minimum score of 20 in reading, listening and writing, and a minimum score of 22 in speaking.
International English Language Test Service (IELTS) : Applicants to all programs except Nursing require a minimum overall band score of 6.5 with a minimum 6 in reading, listening, speaking and writing.
Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: Applicants to all programs except Nursing require a minimum overall score of 58 with a minimum score of 56 in speaking, writing, reading and listening.
NURSING
TOEFL: Applicants to Nursing require a minimum score of 93 with a minimum score of 20 in reading and listening and a minimum score of 22 in writing and speaking
IELTS: Applicants to Nursing require a minimum overall band score of 7 with a minimum 6.5 in reading, listening, speaking and writing

Students who are admitted to a degree program with Concurrent Education, and who complete their Nipissing Honours degree, including the Concurrent Education specific courses, by the end of April, will transition into Years 5 and 6 of the Bachelor of Education professional years. All courses required for the Honours undergraduate degree and/or teachable subject requirements must be completed by May 1 of the year for which the BEd Year 5 transition is being made.<br><br>The Department of History provides a personalized student experience within a collegial learning community dedicated to creativity, innovation, and excellence in teaching, research and scholarly activities. To understand the past is to be able to place yourself in those contexts, to understand and think critically about the world, to empathize. Our program supports the formation of citizens as whole people. Indeed, this could be taken as the summation of our role. Learning in our department provides skills and a critically-informed perspective on society at large that is essential for an active and involved life in the twenty-first century.<br>The Department of History offers a range of undergraduate degree options including an Honours Specialization degree, a Concurrent Education option, or a minor. We specialize in the history of state violence and genocide, international relations, war and terrorism, Indigenous histories, oral history, women's and gender history, and global environmental history. We are committed to small-group and experiential learning tailored to the needs of Nipissing students. We offer a minor/certificate in War, Atrocity, and Genocide. We support a vibrant student community through the History Society and our online undergraduate journal. We engage students in our research programs. We offer a unique Orientation to the Masters in History program that establishes a community-based experiential-learning pathway to our graduate program.
