Entry into the PhD program requires an MA in Psychology from UNC Greensboro or from another institution For students continuing from the MA program at UNC Greensboro only courses with grades of B or better may count toward the PhD degree grades below B in courses that were counted toward the MA degree must be replaced by either retaking the same course or by earning a grade of B or better in a substitute course Course equivalents are decided according to departmental policy which varies by course category eg tools courses vs core courses A minimum of 71 credits hours are required for the PhD degree
Students who receive an MA from another institution will submit syllabi thesis document and other materials for review to determine the portability of their MA degree Typically students earn credit for the MA degree and must complete remaining PhD requirements and a minimum of 35 credits at UNC Greensboro
The Clinical Program does not require GRE scores as part of the admissions process GRE scores will not be considered as part of our admissions decisions rubric

IBT TOEFL 79 TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition score report also accepted same score and paper based - 550.

The UNCG Clinical Psychology program produces clinical psychologists who are professionally and culturally competent in the science and practice of psychology, and who recognize their responsibility as Health Service Providers to actively contribute, through research and practice, to issues facing their communities. Our faculty and training program promote the development of critical thinking, innovation, discovery, community engagement, and adherence to evidence-based clinical practice among our trainees. We are also guided by our core values of collaboration, mutual respect, and equity, and by our commitment to diversity and inclusion, alongside high ethical standards.<br><br>To achieve this mission, two related aims guide our approach to training our students. We seek to: <br><br>Produce Health Service Psychologists with demonstrated knowledge and competence in psychology research, the practice of clinical psychology,and their integration <br>Prepare socially responsible clinical psychologists who will contribute to the field and their community while demonstrating ethical behavior and respect for individual and cultural differences in all aspects of their professional behavior
