Learn psychological assessment and intervention with a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from University of Houston-Clear Lake. Rigorous coursework will provide you with contemporary knowledge and skills in evidence-based individual therapy, group therapy and psychological assessment. Clinical training will prepare you for a career in mental health. You can also pursue specialized study in behavioral medicine, anxiety disorders, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness and acceptance-based therapies, and behavioral parent training for childhood externalizing behaviors.<br>You will complete a two-semester internal practicum in the Psychological Services Clinic and a 500-hour internship at one of the many quality sites in the Houston area.<br>s part of this applied learning, you will work closely with skilled, licensed supervisors and receive significant formative feedback to refine your skills. With emphasis on challenging coursework and practical skills, this program prepares you to pursue professional practice in clinics, hospitals, research facilities or private practice. Program coursework and training meet Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Psychological Associate licensure requirements in Texas. Also, students can work with UHCL's faculty on original research.
