Our admission decisions are based on a composite of criteria. We do not use absolute minimum scores (cutoffs) to make admissions decisions. However, students with a GPA of at least 3.0 in the bachelor's degree are especially encouraged to apply.
Students must have a baccalaureate degree (in any field). Depending on the specific background of the individual and his/her career goals, additional undergraduate level work may be required (e.g., Research Methods, Introduction to Statistics, and Intermediate Statistics and Research Methods).
All applicants must submit official transcripts from their undergraduate institution(s).
All applicants must arrange for three letters of reference.
All applicants must submit a personal statement that identifies the student's interest in an area related to Experimental Psychology. Students should also indicate those program faculty who they would like to have as a mentor. A score of 213 or above on the computer-based TOEFL, A score of 79 or above on the Internet-based TOEFL. a minimum International English Language Testing Systems (IELTS) academic score of 6.5 (scores should be no more than two years old at the time of application)

The Master's in Experimental Psychology (MS EXP PSY) prepares students for research positions in industry and other institutions as well as for doctoral programs. The program provides: <br><br>Intensive student-initiated research training in a variety of areas of experimental psychology.<br>Statistical and methodological knowledge required to examine basic or applied issues and to function as a professional research psychologist.<br>An appreciation of the scientific basis of various fields of psychology.<br>One-on-one faculty mentoring of student research.<br><br>The program is designed so that students can complete the bulk of their required course work and, in conjunction with their faculty mentor, prepare a thesis proposal during their first year. Students can then complete their remaining course credits and a data-based thesis during their second year.
