A baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution with a major in psychology or related field. Cumulative undergraduate grade point averages of 3.5 or above. Students admitted to the PSY graduate program typically possess the following:

Undergraduate coursework that included statistics, methodology, abnormal psychology, and other basic areas such as physiological, cognitive, learning, behavioral, social, and developmental psychology.
A cumulative undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher.
GRE scores in the 152 verbal/150 quantitative range, and 4.5 or above on the analytic scale.
An average of 1-2 years of research experience in their desired graduate program (often from working as undergraduate research assistants).
Research interests that are highly compatible with current faculty in the department.
Strong letters of recommendation (often from supervising faculty in a psychology research setting).
A minimum TOEFL score of 500/61 (paper/internet) or IELTS overall band test result of 6.00 is required.

Experimental Psychopathology focuses on the importance of understanding problems in living in order to better inform prevention and treatment programming.It is expected that graduates will be actively involved in research throughout their graduate careers and assume positions, following graduation, as psychopathology researchers, typically in academic or research settings. Specialized learning and research experiences are available in behavioral assessment, multicultural assessment, program development and evaluation, social bases of behavioral disorders, mood disorders, biological bases of behavioral disorders, psychopharmacology, trauma, behavioral bases of psychopathology, mood disorders, child psychopathology, anxiety disorders, ADHD, severe behavioral disorders such as schizophrenia, psycho-physiological disorders, obesity, health-related behaviors, and quantitative modeling.
