Academic records, certificates and diplomas must be an original or photocopy document stamped/signed by a school official, by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education or government authority. Please note that opened transcripts are not considered official. Applicants who have studied in the U.S. are required to have the institution(s) directly send their official transcript(s) to International Admissions.
Translation of document(s): All original supporting documents not in English must be accompanied by an official translation in the same format and stamped by a qualified translator. Translations by students are not acceptable.
Falsified document(s): You will be denied admissions or expelled if you send falsified academic records, bank statements, or any other supporting documents.
Failure to list all schools attended: If you do not list all schools attended on your application, you will be denied admission or refused transfer credit.
Academic Requirements:
Minimum 2.5 overall GPA
Official transcripts sealed in an envelope by your school
Official high school diploma sealed in an envelope by your school
English Language Proficiency Requirement can be met by:
TOEFL (iBT 61 or PBT 500) or IELTS (5.5 total band score). Must be valid within the last two years.
Successful completion of level 3 of CSUSB

Although there are a number of skill-based courses offered-- such as French Translation, French Phonetics, Introduction to Reading & Interpretation, and labs in French Conversation and Writing, you will also learn about French and francophone cinema, music, art, history, literature, French gourmet culture, intercultural communication for business, and other content areas. Additional courses are offered online through the French Consortium-- giving you the opportunity to work with talented faculty from four other CSU campuses. Students pursuing a B.A. in French can choose from one of two tracks: French Language and Cultures (23 units) or French Studies (11 units). The latter is specifically designed for students pursuing a double major in French and another discipline (or a triple major). Those pursuing a major in another discipline may choose a Minor in French (19 units).<br><br>Graduates of our program have found successful careers in a variety of fields including education, translation, government service, business, and the arts. A specialization in French is also a very useful addition to a number of degrees such as Art, International Business, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Liberal Studies and other disciplines. CSUSB alumni who have gone on to graduate school at reputable schools such as Middlebury College in Paris and CSU Long Beach have reported that their French coursework was a valuable preparation for the rigors of graduate studies.
