Students who complete the International Baccalaureate IB Diplomawith a minimum score of 24 will be considered for admission.
Minimum grade requirement for any subject is 3.
Students can submit predicted or anticipated results for early fall admission and scholarship purposes.
For high school students the minimum admission requirements include an overall average of 70 percent in Grade 12 with no grade below 65 percent in each of the required subjects Admissions to limited enrolment programs is competitive meeting the minimum average does not guarantee admission.
Please note students who are currently in grade 12 applying for early admissionmust have the program requirements in grade 11 and be registered in the program prerequisites in grade 12 to be eligible for an early offer Otherwise offers will be made after receipt of final first term grade 12 transcript.
IELTS - 6.5 overall and no lower than 6.0 in each band.
TOEFL - 90 iBT and no lower than 20 in each band.
CAEL - 70 overall and no lower than 60 in each band.
Pearson Test of English - Academic - 60 overall with no score below 50.

All StFX Modern Languages professors hold doctorate degrees and teach small classes; an ideal intimate and personalized environment for language learning. You can pursue exciting opportunities through the Service Learning program—a one-of-a-kind option for students to put classroom knowledge to effective use in the community and around the globe. <br><br>The department also offers a French proficiency certificate if you want to have your competency in French officially recognized on your transcript. Since French is an official language in Canada, being bilingual can increase potential job opportunities after graduation. Each year, StFX Modern Languages students receive awards from the French, Swiss, Argentinean and German embassies. As well, StFX offers you the chance to live and learn in France or Mexico through the exchange or service learning program.<br><br>In order to complete a major in Spanish students have to enroll in the Study Abroad Program after completing at least 12 credits in Spanish at StFX, take up to 18 credits abroad, and take at least 6 credits in Spanish at the 300 or 400 level upon their return. <br><br>Students who major in our program are able to use Spanish professionally, are savvy about Hispanic cultures, and have the abroad experience valued on the job market.
