语言学专业的文学学士学位要求至少33个小时（200分以上）（必修课为24学时，认可的选修课为9学时），以及四个第二学期的第二语言或同等学期。必修课程为：LING 301、303、304、322、331、367、412或446、425或429。获批准的选修课的9个小时可以从语言学课程或语言学系批准的其他部门的课程中选择。
The B.A. major in Linguistics requires a minimum of 33 credit hours numbered above 200 (24 in required courses, 9 in approved electives) and four semesters of a second language or the equivalent. A program that focuses on language, language development, and relationships among languages and language groups from a humanistic andor scientific perspective. Includes instruction in subjects such as psycholinguistics, behavioral linguistics, language acquisition, sociolinguistics, mathematical and computational linguistics, grammatical theory and theoretical linguistics, philosophical linguistics, philology and historical linguistics, comparative linguistics, phonetics, phonemics, dialectology, semantics, functional grammar and linguistics, language typology, lexicography, morphology and syntax, orthography, stylistics, structuralism, rhetoric, and applications to artificial intelligence.
