Designed for students who are concentrating on the scientic study of language including phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics.<br>This program is designed to help students understand how language and communication function. Students who concentrate on applied aspects of linguistics will have a good preparation for teaching languages and may be able to apply for official certification in Teaching Language as a Second Language (TESL). Linguistics is also a good platform for careers in law, education, publishing and the language software industry.<br>All courses listed in the calendar are not always offered every year.<br><br>This program is designed for students who are concentrating on the scientic study of language (phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, etc.). Students should speak with the Departmental Counsellor for Linguistics to determine which linguistics electives are most appropriate for their academic and professional objectives.
