Applicants are required to have successful completion of high school with 2.5 GPA

English proficiency requirements (one of the following):

TOEFL IBT – 71; IELTS – 6.0; ELS – Level 109 PTE Academic – 52

We have rolling admission, which means we can admit students to WKU close to the start of each semester; however, we recommend that students apply at least two months before the start of their semester to ensure they have enough time to receive an I-20, student visa, housing, and scholarship information.

Accordingly, those who study philosophy question how to understand ourselves and our relationships to other persons, to society, to nature, to the universe, and, for some, to God.<br><br>Philosophy develops our ability to challenge the obvious, trains us to analyze and synthesize ideas, and shows us both how to defend and how to criticize normative claims about actions, policies, and ways of life. By carefully examining and discussing both traditional and contemporary works, it cultivates habits of honest reflection, careful reasoning, and clear thinking.
