For full admission, Truman must receive an official or certified copy of your transcripts from each school you have previously attended. This includes high schools, secondary schools, and universities. Submit Official English Proficiency Scores: Truman requires a minimum overall score of:
• 79 for TOEFL (iBT)
• 6.0 for IELTS , TOEFL (550 or above on the paper-based TOEFL)
If you're eligible for our TruMerit Scholarship – determined by a combination of ACT/SAT score and GPA – or are applying with at least a 27 ACT/1260 SAT and 2.5 GPA, you are automatically admitted to the University when you submit your application, transcript, and verified test scores

As a communication major or minor at Truman, you pursue the complexities that characterize communication in an advanced, technical, and multicultural world - fast-paced and ever-changing. We guide you to meet these challenges in and out of the classroom to become a thoughtful, engaged citizen in many walks of life. Freely explore the many fields of communication through student media or other communication organizations-without fighting the large numbers of other students you see at larger schools. From writing for a convergent travel magazine to covering a beat for the student newspaper or anchoring newscasts on a weekly TV show, from radio announcing, talk shows, and sports to writing a column for the Truman Media Network (TMN), new experiences await you.
