Academic Preparation. Successful students are prepared students and we want to make sure youre ready for the rigors of college-level work. We recommend:
4 years of English
3-4 years of math (through second year algebra or pre-calculus)
3 years of natural sciences (two or more with a lab component)
2 years of the same foreign language
Transcripts from all secondary and postsecondary schools attended or are attending including diplomas examination results mark sheets and certificates Unofficial transcripts and other academic documents are acceptable for admission decision making Uploaded documents will show as received only AFTER an admissions counselor has completed the evaluation.

Test of English as a Foreign Language TOEFL 71 iBT undergraduate.
TOEFL Essential 7 Undergraduate.
International English Language Testing System IELTS Academic 6.0 undergraduate.
Pearson Test of English Academic Module PTE 48 undergraduate.
International Baccalaureate, grade of 5 in English at the Higher Level.
General Certificate of Education - A grade of A B or C in English from one of the five British-based examining boards undergraduate.
Successful completion of ESL level 112.

Western Michigan University's strategic communication major prepares students with knowledge, skills and expertise in internal communication and external communication. This integrated approach meets the 21st century market demand for increased flexibility and breadth of communication competencies in today's communication specialists. Students will complete a common set of foundations and core courses and then select one of four concentrations to complete the degree: public relations, leadership and teamwork, diversity and inclusion, or media and technology. Beginning with the fall 2021 semester, the program with a public relations concentration also will be available fully online.<br>At the end of your course of study in strategic communication, you will be able to:<br><br>Employ practical skills to assess, adapt and display strategic oral, written and digital communication according to key constituencies, goals and context<br>Engage in evidence-based problem solving and critical thinking about communication at individual, team, organizational and societal levels<br>Demonstrate the ethical, legal and social responsibilities of public communication professionals in a diverse world
