Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale
Bachelor's degree awarded from a regionally accredited institution
ubmit a resume or industry certifications indicating your professional experience.
Submit a statement of creative intent explaining your interest in pursuing the degree and future goals, as well as attributes and skills you may bring to the program.
Submit a minimum of 2 letters of recommendation. Your recommenders will receive a link to upload their document. A student may submit more if they wish. Recommendation letters must be sent from the recommender to us, if hard copy they must be in a sealed envelope.
Send official transcripts from ALL colleges and universities attended, one which must show the conferral of a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. Transcripts must be sent directly from the institution of record, we do not accept transcripts sent from applicants.
ETS TOEFL – minimum score of 80 iBT TOEFL with no section lower than 17, minimum score of 550 on the paper-based exam.
TOEFL Essentials Test – minimum score of 8.5.
IELTS & IELTS Indicator – minimum overall score of 6.5 on the IELTS Academic.
Pearson Test of English (PTE) – minimum English academic score of 53
TOEFL, IELTS and PTE exam scores are valid for two years. Scores that are older will not be accepted. If your English proficiency scores are below the minimum requirements, you may be considered for conditional admission.

The master's in Digital Communication and Media Arts (DCMA) will give you the technical skills and tools to effectively navigate the digital communication landscape. This flexible program allows you to tailor your coursework across interests such as branding, content strategy, social media, data-driven marketing, media literacy, documentary production and design.<br><br>This interdisciplinary degree program is offered through the College of Communication and the Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media. Students interested in the Digital Communication track should apply through the College of Communication. Students interested in the Media Art track should apply through the Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media. The Digital Communication track offers courses in Public Relations and Advertising, Journalism, Media and Cinema Studies, and Digital Communication. <br><br>The program is typically completed in about two years. Classes are offered weekday evenings on the Loop or Lincoln Park campuses. Some classes are offered online.
