Your High School Transcripts and Any College Transcripts
Please submit documentation showing that you have completed (or will be completing) an accredited secondary school series equivalent to that of a U.S. high school. Please ensure your official record or transcript (mark sheet) shows your secondary work and grades (or marks) from 9th to at least the end of 11th grade. You will need to include 9th grade even if that work was completed at a different institution. You should also include copies of your official final examinations taken at the end of the secondary school program, including external exams such as the General Certificate of Education (GCE) O and A level examinations, school leaving certificates and matriculation exams. If you have earned any college credit (including dual credit) while in high school, submit official transcripts to UT Austin. Please provide official English translations together with the original language records.
High School Prerequisites - You must complete or be on track to complete certain high school coursework to be competitive for admission.
SAT/ACT Scores - Students should submit at least one set of scores directly from the testing agency. We do not require the SAT Essay or ACT Writing scores. Scores included in transcripts and copies of score reports dont meet this requirement. When you ask the testing agency to send your scores, use the codes the agencies have designated for UT Austin:

Communication touches all aspects of our lives from interacting in the workplace to navigating personal and professional relationships. As a communications studies major, you will master communication in all of these contexts. You have the option to specialize in one of five tracks to focus your studies as you gain experience in argument, persuasion, research and storytelling that will prepare you for careers where communication skills are key. The CMS Undergraduate Program is designed to provide students a wide range of knowledge and expertise alongside practical experience in areas of their choosing.<br>The Bachelor of Communication Studies degree prepares students to act as expert communicators in a variety of contexts. Students have the opportunity to pursue one of five different tracks based on their career goals, including corporate communication, human relations communication, political communication, strategic and risk communication, and global and intercultural communication. Elective courses give students the opportunity to declare a minor that fits their specific interests.<br>The Communication Studies degree is extremely versatile, allowing students to move into a range of careers, such as corporate and marketing communication, sales, human resources and employee relations, healthcare advising, conflict mediation and counseling, advocacy, political campaign management, lobbying, speechwriting, community liaisons, diplomatic work, risk analysis, digital media strategy, event planning and more.<br>Political Communication focuses on communication in political environments and other public settings. Students develop skills and expertise related to speechwriting, campaign management, influence and argumentation applicable to a range of political and public contexts.
