课程简介
The mission of the Graduate Program in Homeland Security is to produce leaders from a variety of educational and professional backgrounds who can effectively and efficiently identify, design and mobilize the appropriate community resources to prevent, deter, preempt, defend against, and respond to terrorist attacks and/or other critical incidents and emergencies on the local, regional, national and international levels. As the first graduate-level Homeland Security program offered in the United States, we proudly offer a rich, interdisciplinary graduate study curriculum leading to the Master of Science degree. We are a brick-and-mortar program, as we have found that forming relationships with your current and future colleagues to be of utmost importance. We offer the Graduate Program in Homeland Security at both the SDSU-San Diego (Main Campus), and the SDSU-Imperial Valley (near El Centro, California).

The SDSU Graduate Program in Homeland Security provides a learning environment where scholarly, educational, and research endeavors are applied to real-world challenges. HSEC Faculty strive to link classroom learning with real-world service opportunities. All of our students experience an internship, work experience, or fellowship in diverse areas such as emergency response through the Red Cross Disaster Worker and Duty Officer assignments, summer work experiences in law enforcement or the intelligence community, or realize new pathways in already existing professional careers.
