You have decided to experience your college education in another country and UTRGV is ready to support you on this journey. We'll help make the process here as seamless as possible by guiding you through the application process and helping with academic advisement in your chosen major.
An applicant is considered an international student if the applicant meets the following conditions:
Not a citizen, permanent resident, or have an application on file to become a permanent resident of the United States, and
Will be attending UTRGV on a visa. Most international students attending UTRGV are on an F-1 student visa or a J-1 visa.

International undergraduate applicants are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), Duolingo English Test or IELTS exam for admissions purposes if they do not meet an exemption. TOEFL, Duolingo or IELTS scores must be sent directly from the educational testing service. UTRGV will not accept residual TOEFL exams taken at another institution (TOEFL ITP). The minimum scores for the tests are as follow: TOEFL 61 (IBT, IBT Home or IBT Paper edition, IBT MyBest Scores), TOEFL Essentials 6.5 (Essentials, MyBest Scores), Duolingo 95, and IELTS 6. The UTRGV school code for TOEFL is 7585.

A Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice prepares students for successful careers in law enforcement, parole and probation, corrections, and youth services.
