The master of arts (MA) in criminal justice program is designed to prepare individuals for successful careers in leadership, management, and research in the field of criminal justice. Students learn effective analytical and problem-solving skills and become professionals with the intellectual capital needed to propose meaningful solutions to the criminal justice issues of contemporary society. The program includes a core curriculum that emphasizes criminological theory, criminal law and justice, the operation of criminal justice agencies, and research and data analysis. Students who wish to develop expertise in fraud analysis and forensic accounting can take advantage of the specialization in white-collar crime. In addition to criminal justice courses, students will choose from a variety of electives offered by the School of Business Administration, Department of Accounting, Taxation, and Business Law. Students with an interest in organizational leadership or working in government or nonprofit sectors can specialize in public administration.
