Achieved a grade point average of at least 2.750 from a U.S. institution, or its equivalent from a foreign institution, and no background deficiencies in the desired field of graduate study. Students with background deficiencies may be admitted on a conditional basis. In certain instances, the GPA may be based on the last 60 credit hours of coursework (or nearest semester or term break to this). Many departments require a higher minimum grade point average.2Applicants must submit the online application through the Graduate School website. Students will be asked, as a part of that application, to upload/provide the following:
Copies of official transcripts from all schools previously attended,
A letter of application outlining a student's career plans and how the MPA degree would further those plans,
A resume including the student's work and volunteer experience, and
Contact information for two people with direct knowledge of a student's work experience or academic performance, to provide letters of reference.
Admission to the Master of Public Administration degree requires students to have completed an undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited college or university and have a grade point of at least a 3.000 (4.000 system) in the last 60 credit hours of coursework, including any postgraduate work. International students must attain a minimum score of 575 paper-based, or 88 internet-based on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or an overall band score of 7.0 on the IELTS.

Wichita State's Master of Public Administration (MPA) program combines theory and practice in public management, public finance and public policypreparing students for positions of leadership in public and nonprofit organizations. The program offers a completely online option. Graduates serve in diverse careers as city managers and department heads, program managers, finance directors, budget and management analysts and agency planners. At Wichita State, applied learning is everything. In fact, every degree we offer has a guaranteed applied learning or research experience built right into it equipping you with the relevant skills and experience to make you workforce ready before graduation. The Master of Public Administration degree consists of 39 graduate credit hours taken over at least five semesters of studyand may be taken completely online.<br><br>Core courses consist of 24 credit hours. In addition to the core, students develop a plan of study for 15 credit hours of electives which must be approved by an advisor.
