The Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration is an interdisciplinary degree designed to provide students with the conceptual knowledge, analytic and quantitative skills, and practical experience relevant for entry level positions in public and nonprofit organizations. The interdisciplinary approach of the program is a response to the challenges of the public and nonprofit sector at federal, state and local levels, which require both administrative skill and sensitivity to the currents of social and political change. The program aims to develop a multidimensional understanding of the role of public institutions in meeting the needs of a dynamic and changing society. The program is intended to develop generalists who possess substantive skills of administration and who understand the complexity of social problems, the responsibilities of public institutions, and the impact of those institutions on the everyday activities of the citizenry.
