NYU School of Medicine offers a dual MDMPH in global health. Opens in a new tab in collaboration with NYU’s College of Global Public Health. The program augments clinical training with courses in social and behavioral science, community and international health, epidemiology, public health, and policy management.Our dual MDMPH in global health can help you gain the skills needed to solve the world’s most complex problems in population health.The 40-credit MPH degree program can be completed with the MD degree in either a standard five-year or an accelerated four-year pathway. You apply in your third year of medical school.Medical students who demonstrate high academic achievement and professionalism can apply to the accelerated pathway to complete the dual MDMPH degree in four years instead of five. An advisor in student affairs reviews your admissions file and current transcript to evaluate your ability to meet the requirements of an accelerated four-year schedule.Once accepted, you complete coursework for the MD degree in two years by taking summer classes. Your third year is dedicated to MPH coursework. In your fourth year, you return to medical school to complete the clerkships, electives, and selectives necessary for the MD degree. During evening classes, you complete the seminar and capstone project necessary for the MPH degree.
