You must submit an official record of academic performance for the equivalent of 9th, 10th, and 11th grades under the US system. All official documents must be accompanied by a verified English translation if the original document is not in English. Include any certificates, diplomas, or examination results marking the completion of secondary education or preparation for higher education (i.e., O- or A-level or IB exam results).
Applicants should typically receive a minimum of 100 total for the Internet-based TOEFL (iBT) with preferred sub-scores of 26 (Reading), 26 (Listening), 22 (Writing), and 25 (Speaking). A score of 7.0 or higher on each band is expected on IELTS. A composite score of 120 or higher is expected for the DET with preferred.

The Department of Economics at Hopkins is a leader in economic theory and empirical analysis. We train undergraduates for successful careers in the academy, government, nonprofit, and private sectors. The programs we offer through the Center for Financial Economics are designed to improve your understanding of important economic problems and to provide the tools youll need to critically analyze these problems and deal with them in practice.<br>Economics is the study of how markets and economies operate and the role of government in an economy. The Department of Economics offers a major, a minor, and a minor in financial economics through the Center for Financial Economics. Many students who take economics courses major in other disciplines as well.<br>Economics students go in a variety of directions after graduation. Some go to graduate school in economics. Many others go to other professional schools, such as law school or medical school. Some students go into the workforce, in diverse areas such as finance, banking, private industry, government, or public service. The Department of Economics has an Economics Club, which brings Hopkins alumni and other professionals to campus to talk about their jobs and related career paths for economics majors.
