The basic requirement for admission is a high school degree and a minimum cumulative undergraduate grade-point average (GPA) of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale (or an 85% grade average or higher).
An official transcript (documentation of a student's permanent academic record including the courses that have been completed and the marks that have been received for those courses). If your school or national education department does not provide transcripts, please provide a certified record of the courses and examinations taken, this would include Government Examination certificates (such as GCSE-O Level, IGCSE, and ''A Level). You must submit official secondary/high school transcripts - in the original language and in a translated English version.
** The essay that is a required part of the SUNY Supplemental Application or the Common Application is acceptable. You may also use the SUNY International Applicant Essay form - form for your essay. You may choose any topic for your autobiographical essay.
*** A letter of recommendation from an academic teacher or school counselor.

The Department of Economics offers a program leading to a Bachelor of Art or a Bachelor of Science in Economics. It is designed to prepare students for careers in private and public sectors, non-profit organizations, and for graduate work in economics and business administration.In addition to a broad General Economics track, students may complete prescribed clusters of upper-division elective courses to concentrate their studies in Business Economics or International Economics tracks. Students who intend to pursue graduate study in economics are advised to complete additional courses in mathematics.The concentration areas within the program are designed to enable students to combine a liberal arts education with their individual graduate work or career objectives. Prospective majors are strongly advised to plan their program of study in consultation with the department chair or another member of the Economics faculty.
